Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Home Efficient LLC ("Home Efficient," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware limited liability company operating from Florida, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the website at homeefficient.energy (the "Site") or submit a request through our solar lead-matching service (the "Service").
By using the Site or submitting the form, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not submit the form.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you submit the form on the Site, we collect:
| Field | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name, email, phone | To contact you with quotes and to share with the matched solar installer. |
| ZIP code | To match you to a local solar installer who serves your area. |
| Last month's electric bill (dollar amount) | To gauge whether solar is likely to save you money and to help the installer right-size a system. |
| Consent (TCPA / FTSA) | To document your authorization to be contacted as described in Section 9. |
Information collected automatically
When you submit the form, we also record:
- The page URL where you submitted (for ad attribution).
- The referring URL, if any.
- Your browser's user-agent string (for diagnostics).
- The timestamp of submission.
We do not ask for or store: utility-bill files or images, government identification numbers, Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, or browsing history outside this Site.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match you with one or more independent local solar installers who can prepare a quote.
- Contact you (or have the installer contact you) about solar and battery options for your home.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- Measure ad performance and improve our marketing (see Cookies).
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How we share information
Solar installers
The core purpose of submitting the form is to be matched with a solar installer. We share the information you provide with one or more independent local solar installers (currently a single installer) so they can prepare a quote and contact you. These installers are not our agents; they are independent businesses, and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy practices.
Service providers (processors)
We use the following third-party services to operate the Site. These providers process information on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Google LLC — Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Google Apps Script host the lead-storage backend.
- Vercel Inc. — hosts and serves the Site.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — when the Meta Pixel is enabled on the Site, Meta receives information about pageviews and form submissions for ad measurement and optimization.
- Google Fonts — serves the typeface used on the Site; receives standard request metadata (IP, user-agent) per Google's Fonts terms.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
Business transfers
If Home Efficient is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (e.g., via the Site) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties. We do not rent or trade email lists. We do not authorize the matched installer to share or re-sell your information beyond their own quote-preparation and follow-up.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
The Site uses a small number of tracking technologies:
- Strictly necessary: standard browser storage required to keep the form working.
- Analytics / advertising (only if enabled at the time of your visit): Meta Pixel, which sets cookies and uses identifiers to measure ad performance and to enable retargeting on Meta-owned platforms (Facebook, Instagram).
- Fonts: Google Fonts, which receives basic request metadata when serving the typeface.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Meta-based ads in your Facebook / Instagram ad preferences, and use the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool for general ad personalization opt-outs. Where required by law, we present a cookie banner.
5. How long we keep information
- Active leads (not yet sold or contacted): kept for up to 24 months after submission.
- Sold or contacted leads: kept for up to 24 months after the date of sale or contact, as a billing and audit record.
- Deletion requests: honored within 30 days of receipt, except for records we are required to retain by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including:
- HTTPS encryption in transit for all Site traffic.
- Encryption at rest provided by Google for stored lead data.
- Two-factor authentication on the account that holds the lead-storage backend.
- Access limited to personnel and installers with a need to know.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you of a security incident as required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
You have the following choices regardless of where you live:
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information from our records.
- Stop contact — withdraw consent to be contacted by us or by the installer we matched you with. (You may also use any unsubscribe / STOP mechanism the installer provides.)
To exercise any of these, email privacy@homeefficient.energy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request. There is no charge for a reasonable request, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. State-specific privacy rights
Florida residents (FDBR)
Under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, Florida residents have the rights to confirm processing, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Email privacy@homeefficient.energy to exercise these rights. We do not knowingly sell or share Florida residents' information for cross-context behavioral advertising other than as disclosed in Section 4 (Meta Pixel). You may appeal a denial of your request by replying to our response email; we will respond within the period required by law.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. The categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months are described in Section 1. We disclose this information to the recipients listed in Section 3 for the business purposes described there. Operating the Meta Pixel may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under CPRA; you can opt out by emailing privacy@homeefficient.energy with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger the right to limit. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other state-law residents
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others) have the rights to access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. To exercise these rights, email privacy@homeefficient.energy. We will respond within the period required by your state's law (typically 45 days).
Nevada residents
Nevada residents may submit a verified request to opt out of the future sale of certain personal information by emailing privacy@homeefficient.energy. We do not currently sell personal information as defined under Nevada law.
9. Calls and texts (TCPA, Florida FTSA)
When you submit the form, you provide your express written consent for Home Efficient and the solar installer(s) we match you with to contact you at the phone number you provided, including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or pre-recorded voice messages, and SMS / text messages, regarding solar and battery options for your home. Standard message-and-data rates may apply.
Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text, asking the caller to remove your number, or emailing privacy@homeefficient.energy. Florida residents have additional protections under the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act (FTSA); you may also opt out using any opt-out mechanism described in a call or message you receive.
10. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults 18 and older who own the home for which they are requesting a quote. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (e.g., a banner on the Site).
